Motorcycle, a vehicle to what?

Whenever we think about this question, the answer always appears intuitively: of course, it is to move to and from any location!

Hmmm, I think that in this way, we are forgetting the most important part and which we always say is one of the essences of the motorcyclist. The motorbike is also a “vehicle” for meeting people! Either they are other motorcyclists or, who has never parked their motorbike, and someone passes by and starts a conversation: either because they also have one, or they would like to have one or they simply think our motorbike is spectacular… I’ve spent long minutes in very pleasant conversations with someone who was passing by, and as time went by, we drifted into other topics, and it became very pleasant.

If you think about children, then it’s brutal! The attraction they have for motorbikes is magnetic, and if we pick them up and sit them up there, then their joy is indescribable and so rewarding!

On a trip to Morocco, with my wife and my brother and sister-in-law on the other motorbike, we met a Spanish couple (Canary Islands) in Chefchaouen (the blue city) who were staying in the same hotel. They ended up accompanying us on the section of the trip that took us to Fez. This happened in 2018 and we still keep in touch, we met (by video) the youngest member of the family who was born in the meantime, and we have planned a trip to see them on those fantastic islands that have suffered so much hardship recently. But this is one of many similar stories that I could tell you on so many other pages. The common factor is that the “vehicle” that led us to all these people was the motorbike!

Unexpectedly, inside a leather or Cordura jacket, there is a person who, in addition to sharing the passion for motorcycling, could prove to be interesting and enriching.

What fascinates me most about what I described above is that in this digital world in which people find it increasingly difficult to interact personally, we, motorcyclists, keep alive these particularities that differentiate us from machines: Feelings and emotions!

Enjoy your ride.
